In ancient days people were cast to the wild animals. Now the public devours the people - those tastefully prepared by the journalists". &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's self referential - he was speaking from personal experience - and therefore slightly out of context, however there is a kernel of truth in there which is relevant.
