How little things change eh?

The hum-dinging/massive fish slapping that Britain exploits the mentally ill has got regarding the Susan Boyle thing reminded me of a Soren Kierkegaard quote that I jotted down in my notebook recently.

"Journalists are animal keepers who provide something for the public to talk about. In ancient days people were cast to the wild animals. Now the public devours the people - those tastefully prepared by the journalists".

It's self referential - he was speaking from personal experience - and therefore slightly out of context, however there is a kernel of truth in there which is relevant. We aren't talking about journalists per se, but since the majority of them come from the same bedrock as the rest of the sardonic wanker media - Oxbridge - then it's a relevant quote me thinks.

God Help The Girl

Gliding about yesterday (I seem to do a good deal of that) I came across this:

http://www.godhelpthegirl.com/

A proto Stuart Murdoch idea, where he effectively recruits singers for a 'side project' (hate that term, esp in this context) which will eventually become a film/musical...

Anyhow, very intrigued by the whole idea. I have a bunch of songs that don't really sound like Tramp With Orchestra songs so maybe I should try something similar. I've always had an urge to produce/fancied myself as a bit of a Phil Spector...

Without the hair/gun obviously...

Habit One

I'm currently spending my afternoons at the Wolverhampton Art Gallery Cafe - usually writing some mixed lyrical/philosophical bullshit in my faithful notebook.

I go there because I'm not about to cook my guts in some behemoth corporation type Waffen-SS Cafe/ubiquitous tart establishment unless physically cajoled.

For some reason I have this habit of mixing/pouring milk for a cup of tea into the tea pot itself, like some kind of theatrical tea alchemist. It bizarrely seems to amuse some people, although the majority think I'm bonkers.

Theories/cash welcome...

Well hello there...

This is my first post.

Today I've been ferreting out some old demo Cd's and y'know there are one or two half decent songs on there. In particular Louis Wain was a Russian and A God in the details deserve resurrection. I'll post the results on here at some stage.

Howdy big web world by the way :)
